Quick and Easy Valentines Day Card Idea

This sweet little Valentines Day card was quick and easy to make, using products from the December Paper Pumpkin kit, Beary Comforting. Even sweeter is the design inspiration behind today’s card.

Beary Happy Design Inspiration

As I share in the video, this card design was created by my mom.  Our family has always been crafty, but card-making had always been my thing.  At Christmas a year ago, my mom and I had so much fun playing with a craft kit, making cards for hospitalized kids.  Since it’s always hard to find great gifts for older relatives, I thought a Paper Pumpkin subscription would be an ideal gift for her birthday.  She loved the crafting and the Stampin’ Up products so much, she signed up to be a demonstrator!  And, while she doesn’t currently host parties, she has found lots of people in her everyday circle who enjoy buying the cards she makes.

She designed this card as part of the Valentines Day cards she is selling and shared a picture with me.  I thought it was so stinkin’ cute that I just had to recreate it for you here.

Easy Valentines Day Card Assembly

This card was quick and easy to assemble, with just a couple die cuts and two half sheets of cardstock.  I used the 2 large frame dies from Ornate Labels to cut the outer Real Red frame.  I made sure the inner die was centered so there were even margins all around.  Then I used the 4th-from-the-largest Stitched Rectangle die to cut the center Real Red panel.  I backed that with a piece of gold foil paper.

For the sentiment, I used the wavy banner die in the Always In My Heart bundle.  It has these cool score marks to make the tails of the banner 3-dimensional.  The sentiment is from the Always in My Heart stamp set and there are other stamps that could easily be swapped out for a cute anniversary card.

The bears and the heart are pieces from the December 2020 Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love having pre-made pieces ready to go for crafting and the Paper Pumpkin kit made it so quick and easy to make these Valentines cards.  To finish it off, I added some bling from Wonderful Gems, but if you don’t have those, there are little hearts in the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog.  I’ll list those below.

Paper Pumpkin + Sale-a-bration = Win Win

Every month, in addition to the cards and projects featured in the kit, there are always plenty of Paper Pumpkin kit pieces left over for bonus cards. They make card making easy and frequently offer gold/silver-embossed sentiment strips that you can’t find anywhere else. But it gets better! Sale-a-bration 2021 is going on now. With the purchase of each 3-month prepaid subscription to Paper Pumpkin you will earn a free $50 Saleabration item, now through the end of February. Even better, a prepaid subscription is the perfect gift. Like my mom, just think of those hard-to-buy-for relatives. Paper Pumpkin makes a great gift for them. They have fun sharing your love of crafting plus they end up with cards they can send to their loved ones. With a purchase during Sale-a-bration it’s a win-win: gift for your recipient, free product for you. Easy peasy!
