‘Tis the Season Poinsettia Christmas Card
I love making poinsettias to add to Christmas cards and ‘Tis the Season to make Christmas cards. When I got an early preview of the August-December Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog, I was excited to see the new Wonder of the Season suite. In addition to two fun bundles, the paper contains my favorite Christmas styles in red and green patterns. On top of that, there’s even a coordinating Memories & More card pack which makes it easy to make handmade Christmas cards quickly. Add in the gorgeous red velvet paper and stunning cards are easy to make. This card design would also be perfect for quick thank you cards when receiving gifts from afar this holiday season.
In today’s project, I share some helpful tips to make it faster to make multiple cards while maximizing the number of cards you can make with one sheet of paper. Even with cutting and assembling the poinsettia flowers, this card was quick to assemble. The design is conducive to making these in bulk, sure to impress family and friends with your craftiness.
The hardest part was wrangling the ribbon into a bow. But I think that’s more me, and less ribbon. For the sake of maintaining my crafty reputation, through the magic of video editing, that footage was……accidentally lost. Yeah, that’s my story. It was lost. ?
New Products in The Tis the Season Poinsettia Card
Besides the new Poinsettia Dies and the ‘Tis the Season designer series paper used in this card, there were a couple other new products used. I frequently use embossing folders on my cards. They make it easy to add a fun textural element to a card design.
In the holiday mini catalog, there was a junior-sized set of embossing folders, the Wrapped in Texture embossing folders. These smaller-sized folders were designed specially to fit the new mini-sized die cutting machine that Stampin’ Up! will be introducing later this year. Having crafted for 3 years in the confines of a motorhome, I love the idea of a space-saving machine. While many dies fit the small machine, embossing folders usually would not. So these junior-sized folders are a welcome addition.
The other new products used in this card are the gorgeous (unruly) ribbon and the Wonderful Gems. I’ve made good use of these beautiful gold speckled gems on my poinsettia cards. I’ve used them instead of the beautiful pearl flower centers that are part of the Poinsettia Place Suite. But enough rambling about all these lovely new products, I’m sure you can’t wait to see the card…
