Celebrate Sunflowers Cheerful Birthday Card
Pull out the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle to make this beautiful card to celebrate birthdays in style. This card uses an unexpected color combination to complement the gorgeous foiled paper from the Gilded Autumn designer series paper collection.
Sunflower Color Combinations
To start, I cut out outline and base pieces out of several colors, including Cinnamon Cider, Bumble Bee, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody. I wasn’t sure which combination I would like the best so I wanted to mix and match to see them all. Which one is your favorite?
Let me know in the Comments which combo was your favorite. With several options in hand, I then chose the right paper out of the Gilded Autumn designer series paper collection. Since there’s a lot of detail in the flower, I wanted a paper that wouldn’t compete or clash with the flower. It turns out the best paper was the Mint Macaron paper with brass foil accents.
The last design choice was the selection of sentiment and shape. I turned to The Best Year stamp set once again. I love the combination of scripts and blocky fonts in this set. It also has sentiments suitable for both the inside and outside of the card. With the stamp selected, I could then choose the die to cut it out. There weren’t any appropriately-sized dies in my favorite Tasteful Labels dies, so I turned to my other favorite dies: Stitched So Sweetly. The second smallest scalloped rectangle was perfect!
